WHAT IS PM-VIKAS YOJNA and how one can apply for the same??

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi or PM-Kisan Yojana is an initiative by the government of India that provides farmers up to Rs 6000 per annum, it is paid three equal instalments of 4 months of Rs 2,000. This initiative was taken in Interim Union Budget of India on 1^st February 2019 by PiyushGoyal (Minister of Industry & Supply of India). This scheme provides end-to-end money transfers directly to farmers bank accounts those who has applied for PM-VIKAS YOJANA.

WHO ARE ELIGIBLE FOR PM-VIKAS YOJANA:

The Scheme is eligible for the farmers who has ownership of land up to 2 hectare & family should consist of husband, wife and minor children’s. Only one family member is eligible for the same, If husband and wife both apply for yojana then only one of them will be selected based on ownership records.

WHO ARE NON-ELIGIBLE FOR PM-VIKAS YOJANA:

Farmers who are retired and get their pensions up to Rs10,000 or more, multi-tasking staff, class IV/Group D employees and most important the farmers who had paid their income tax in the previous assessment year are NON-ELIGIBLE for the yojana.

HOW TO APPLY FOR PM-VIKAS YOJANA:

Visit website https://pmkisan.gov.on/ , home page will appear in front of you, in home page click on farmer corner, then farmer registration, then submit required documents like Aadhar no., bank account, etc. you can also download PMKisan App for the registration and many more updates. Or you can visit your nearest Common Service Centers (CSCs) for offline registration.

HOW TO CHECK INSTALLMENT UPDATES:

Visit website https://pmkisan.gov.on/ , Click on farmers corner, know your status, select Aadhar no., enter Aadhar no. and captcha, as soon as it verifies your account click on get OTP, enter OTP and you can view when will be next installment will be provided in your bank account.

In 2024, PM-VIKAS YOJANA’s 18^th installment was released in Washim, Maharashtra on 5^th October, 2024 which beneficiated 9.58 Crore farmers financially. Whereas 19^th Installment was released on 24^th February, 2025 in Bhagalpur, Bihar. Helped 9.8 Crore farmers financially. It costed government more than Rs 22,000 Crore.
